Shower trays for the elderly: safety and accessibility
Adapting a bathroom for an elderly person almost always starts with the shower. A good tray reduces the risk of falls and makes access easier. Here’s what to look for.
1. Genuine non-slip (class C3)
Safety comes first. Look for the highest non-slip rating (class 3, C3): it keeps its grip even with water and soap. Our entire range meets it — more detail in what C3 non-slip means.
2. Floor-level access (no step)
A tray installed flush with the floor removes the step: you walk straight in, or roll in with a wheelchair, with nothing to trip over. It’s the safest and most comfortable option.
3. Generous, made-to-measure sizing
More space = more safety (room for a chair or a carer). Common sizes: 80×120, 90×120 or your exact measurement. We make it to the millimetre to fit your space.
4. Smooth, easy-to-clean surface
The Liso tray is ideal: a continuous, joint-free surface that’s easy to clean and maintain.
Pair it with grab bars and a fold-down seat for a fully accessible bathroom.
